The Amalfi coast can boast some of the most dramatic and stunning stretch of coastline in all of Europe. Listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site, the area is well known for its scenic beauty, picturesque towns and rugged terrain. The Isle of Capri is a place of legend… once the playground of the Roman Emperors and now a playground for the rich and famous.
The island juts out of the sea at the far end of the Sorrentine peninsula and is surrounded by gorgeous cliff bound scenery… hillsides, villas and tiny lanes draped in bougainvillea and honeysuckle. Our two enchanting hotels overlook the brilliant azure waters of the Mediterranean. The Amalfi Coast base will include visits to Pompeii, Positano, Sorrento, Ravello and the amazing coastal road.

Day 1 - Capri Pick up from the train station in Naples. On our drive to our first destination, Isle of Capri, we will make a detour to visit Pompeii, a Roman town completely destroyed by a volcanic eruption of Mt Vesuvius. Frozen in time, the town has been excavated and is revealing and detailed about Roman life – a fascinating tour. After lunch at a wonderful local restaurant where we will taste fresh homemade pasta and local wine, we will continue on to Sorrento where we will board our high-speed ferry to the Isle of Capri. The view on arrival at the Marina Grande is stunning, a bustling harbour with a backdrop of sheer cliffs and colourful houses. This evening we dine in a very good restaurant in Capri. Dinner

We can spend some time here at the quaint shops, meander through the quiet lanes or climb the steps to the magnificent duomo (church) before making our way to Ravello, said to be the jewel of the Amalfi coast. The best views of the coast can be had in Ravello, which is spread across the top of one of the coast’s mountains.
